I AM SO GLAD WE STAYED AT FAIRBRIDGE INN!
At first I was wanting to stay directly in the village on front street . Thankfully I didn't. The hotels on the main street are so crowded, it will drive you insane! You can barely walk around the tourist streets, there is nowhere to park and the hotels are so crowded that it's claustrophobic. I don't even know how you would sleep at night!
The Fairbridge Inn is just a block or so away from the main tourist drag but it is so much better. You can easily park at Fairbridge, there are no crowds of people walking all over you and the management is friendly, helpful and they go out of their way to make sure their guests are well cared for and happy. Our room was comfortable, well appointed and quiet.
They have a very authentic "German" breakfast room with a great assortment of food. We made our own waffles everyday and covered then in fresh fruit and cream. They have fresh juices, coffee, hot chocolate and tea served around the clock in the lobby and we loved the popcorn and movie special.
There is a beautiful open air lounging deck on the top level and our favourite thing to do was to take our tea out to the lounging area and relax in the gorgeous scenery.
Wi-Fi is strong and free, they have great TV/Movie channels, you can book all of your tours here and the staff had great recommendations on restaurants and activities.
If I stayed on front street I would have hated our trip. I am so glad we chose to stay at Fairbridge Inn, we could walk to anything we wanted to do and we had the greatest experience.
We'll be back next year!
